Discreet and lightweight, IFB (interruptible fold back) earpiece systems are created for use in conjunction with intercom systems for those working either behind or in front of the camera. News anchors and pregame talk show hosts are where you'd commonly see the use of such an earpiece as listen only systems to notify talent and camera personnel when you are coming out of commercial break or when breaking news is happening. Directors may also use an IFB earpiece system to communicate with camera personnel as shot framing needs to change or when a camera in particular is taking the live shot.
