Swabs

Dirty end-faces are the leading cause of fiber failures. in fact 85% of all fiber failures are due to contaminated end-faces so it is imperative to inspect and, if necessary, clean end-faces every time they are mated. Inserting solvent dampened swabs into the ports of any fiber connection and turning several times will loosen and clean up any foreign particles. Make sure to select swabs with the correct diameter to fit inside the port to be cleaned. Follow the dampened swabs with a dry one, using the same procedure to remove any remaining solvent from the connector lens. Make sure your fiber cables are working at their best.
