The FMEC-LS-LS-1 from Furukawa is a portable HDTV assembly checker that comes equipped with the LEMO connector to check SMPTE cables that are fitted with LEMO 3K connectors. It can simultaneously check optical insertion loss of fibers, conductivity as well as short-cut/cross over of metal wires by simply connecting the checker to the cable assembly and pressing a button.
Identifying optical loss test results is indicated by LED color: red LED indicates the NG Level is -20db to -45 db; yellow LED indicates a Notice Level from -8dB to -19.9dB; the green LED indicates a Pass Level from -0dB to -7.9dB (blue LED indicates the initial adjustment).
The checker can test up to a maximum 1,000m long cable assembly with two AA batteries.
