The ES-185F is a GPS Master Clock/Time Code Generator. The unit receives accurate time and date information from Global Positioning System satellites and displays nine digits of time (Day of Year, Hour, Minute & Second). Simultaneously, the ES-185F generates several types of time code including SMPTE/EBU LTC, ESE-TC90/TC89 (selectable), ASCII (RS-232C & USB), IRIG-B and a 1PPS signal. These outputs allow the ES-185F to easily interface with new or existing computers, automation and clock systems. A 12-channel receiver is employed that is capable of tracking up to twelve satellites simultaneously, although reception of only one is required for time data to be output. ESE's ES-185F offers an accuracy of better than 10nS, and is entirely self-setting. The unit provides an internal Coin Cell for backing up the GPS receiver time.
Software available for the ES-185F permits users to continuously update a computer's Windows' clock to the time available on the USB port. Other features allow the user to select SMPTE mode (DF, NDF, EBU & Real Time), offset the Time Zone displayed and output by the ES-185F and advance or delay the time output for various synchronizing purposes.
Product Options:
Ant: GPS Antenna: High Performance GPS Antenna for harsh RF Environments.
DC: DC Operation: Requires the unit to be powered from a DC source exclusively, typically +12 to +35 VDC.
EX10: External Time Base: Available when a user prefers to reference the clock of an existing source of 10 MHz.
HR: Relay Closure: Option "HR" provides a user programmable relay contact closure. The standard contact closure occurs on the Hour and Half Hour. If contact closures at other times are desired, the user can program up to four relay closures using the PC Software, which can be downloaded from the ESE web site. The reed relay is rated at 10 watts maximum resistive load (500 mA switching current) and is intended for control applications only. The relay contacts are accessible on the DB-9 connector.
K: Provides a 10 MHz output and a phase lock 1PPS signal
MG: Multi-GNSS: Provides a Multi-GNSS Receiver capable of tracking multiple Global Navigation Satellite Systems.
NTP6: NTP Time Server: Network Time Protocol Output with IPv6 & Network Control input via Ethernet (10/100Base-T, RJ-45).
OCXO: OCXO: Provides an Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator.
UL: "UL" Approved Power Supply: The unit is supplied with a UL/CSA approved wall mount power supply (90-264 VAC).
