Rosco's UV Filter blocks the near UV wavelengths while transmitting the visible rays. Ideal for applications where ultraviolet rays have a harmful effect.
Rosco's UV Filter is widely used in locations where ultraviolet rays would have a detrimental effect on objects under illumination. The near UV rays will cause dye degradation of textiles, paper fibers and plastics. Rosco's UV Filter is very effective at blocking these wavelengths while transmitting visible light rays. Clear to the eye, it can be used on light sources, windows or showcases.
UV Filter is widely used by photographers to inhibit the ultraviolet output of strobes and arc lights. Certain dyes, inks and textile whiteners tend to fluoresce when exposed to ultraviolet radiation. This can result in color shifts when certain types of color reversal films are used.
Where clothing or decorating textiles are displayed, fading is a major problem. When used on the light source or showcase, Rosco's UV Filter will significantly reduce the loss of color and help maintain its vibrancy over time.
UV Filter is available in sheets, rolls and sleeves to facilitate the filtering of fluorescent lamps. Adding a UV Filter sleeve is strongly recommended when using color filter sleeves. By using the UV Filter, color can be preserved considerably longer.
The UV Filter is a virtually transparent filter, specially coated to absorb ultraviolet rays. The material allows less than 10% transmission below 390 nanometers. NOTE: A black light filter passes UV. Rosco's filter absorbs UV.
