The GPI-10 generates an RS-232 output whenever a GPI switch is closed. Up to ten RS-232 strings can be programmed at the factory, corresponding to the ten GPI input connectors. The GPI-10K has the same features as the GPI-10 plus built-in keypad. See Specifications below for four standard firmware versions. Custom programming of the firmware is also available.
Standard Firmware for GPI-10
Version A: Used to communicate with our MCG-2 Micro Character Generator. This firmware will call selected pages from the MCG-2's stored memory.
Version E-4: Used primarily with the Pinnacle Systems DekoCast. This firmware causes the GPI-10 to output *01 when terminal #1 is activated, *02 when terminal #2 is activated, etc. Baud Rate: 9600 8-N-1.
Version I-1: Also used with the Pinnacle Systems DekoCast. This firmware causes the GPI-10 to output *1 when terminal #1 is activated and #1when terminal #1 is deactivated, *2 when terminal #2 is activated and #2 when terminal #2 is deactivated, etc. Baud Rate: 19200 8-N-1.
Version I-96: Used primarily with the Pinnacle Systems DekoMOS. This firmware is a meld of both E-4 and I-1 firmwares. When terminal #1 is activated, *01 is output, and #01 when terminal #1 is deactivated. When terminal #2 is activated, *02 is output, and #02 when terminal #2 is deactivated, etc. Baud Rate: 9600 8-N-1.
Standard Firmware for GPI-20
Version A: Used primarily with the Pinnacle Systems DekoMOS. This is an update to the Version I-96 firmware, but with double the amount of unique data strings. When terminal #1 is activated, *01 is output, and #01 when terminal #1 is deactivated. When terminal #20 is activated, *20 is output, and #20 when terminal #20 is deactivated, etc. Forty (40) unique data streams are included (from *01 - *20 and #01 - #20). Baud Rate: 9600 8-N-1.
