EXBOX.64 is an active signal converter and re-clocker for MADI signals. Two MADI I/Os (1 x optical SC and 1 x coaxial BNC) enable MADI signals to be converted from optical to coaxial and vice versa. The input signals, which are not required to be in sync with each other, are cross patched to the corresponding output. The output signal is re-clocked at the output, thus refreshing the signal for cable length extensions.
Bit transparent
The frame structure of the input signal is kept unchanged. This means that even proprietary adaptions of MADI (AES10) will pass through the unit in their native state.
Range extension
The output signal of the coaxial port is refreshed electrically. As a result, the BNC cable range from the optical I/O may be extended if necessary with no loss of signal quality.
Noiseless
No signal will be output unless a valid input signal has been detected at the corresponding input port.
Safe operation
Two robust Hirose sockets are available to plug in up to two external power supply units or battery packs for safe operating conditions with redundancy.
Rack-Ready
Each EXBOX can be mounted into a standard 19''-rack by using the optional kit BOXMOUNT.XL. Up to three devices may fit side-by-side within 1 RU.
