Based on the latest Nixer audio processor, the RS32 DANTE is a 32-way digital Audio over IP switch with 64 digital inputs and 64 digital outputs. Switches can be configured as either 2 inputs to 1 output changeover or 1 input to 2 output changeover. They can be selected individually or linked together to make larger switches upto a maximum of 32 ways. Any switch can be activated by the intuitive touchscreen interface.
Switches operate almost instantaneously and negate the need of having to use a laptop and a controller program and the inherent delays these bring.
RS32 allows for the simple set up and control of 32 AoIP switches. These can either be 2 into 1 input switches or 1 into 2 output switches which can be configured on a switch by with basis. All of the features are easily and simply controlled via the large intuitive touchscreen interface.
Once configured switches can easily be operated by touching the respective switch on the touchscreen resulting in near instantaneous changeover of the audio. It is also possible to gang switches together in any number from 2 through to 32.
The RS32 is operated and controlled via the large letterbox 6.6" diagonal (168mm) 1440 x 240 24-bit color LCD and capacitive touch panel.
A simple and elegant menu system has been designed to be intuitive to navigate allowing the user to access all the features of the RS32 very quickly.
The high-resolution screen is easy to read presenting switching and status information to the user.
Firmware updates of the RS32 is achieved via a dedicated USB micro AB connector on the front panel.
On the rear of the RS32 unit there is a Primary and Secondary port for the AoIP input.
The Control RJ45 allows the RS32 to remotely controlled via OSC. The Remote RJ45 is a bespoke remote control port for additional accessories (note it is not compatible with ethernet).
The RS32 can be powered via PoE on the Primary port and/or via the 2.5mm DC input connectors requiring 24V @ 2A. The DC input also have a screw lock to prevent accidental unplugging. Using both the PoE and the DC inout provides redundancy. The optional NIX00583 or the NIX00629 can be used to power the RS32.
