CTG AUDIO CM-01 - Overview

The CM-01 ceiling microphone utilizes a special pressure sensitive, tensionless low-mass element enhanced with an integrated FET low noise amplifier. These characteristics result in ultra smooth frequency response providing excellent feedback stability for voice reinforcement and teleconferencing applications. The high temperature stability assures exceptional system performance in fixed gain situations. In an average acoustical environment this microphone will have a pickup range of 10' - 12' radius.

Please note!An MCM-101 Step Down Impedence transformer module is included which each mic.

Each CTG microphone is shipped with the MCM-101 Connection module which is required for any installation other than a few special applications where the microphone is connected directly to a computer sound card input with a short cable.

The MC-101 Module has several important functions. Since CTG microphones use an electret condenser element, the direct output of the microphone has an impedance of 2000 Ohms which would result in signal loss over long cable runs to a mixer, and professional mixers require an input impedance of 600 Ohms or less. The MC-101 contains a studio grade impedance transformer that reduces the microphone impedance to 200 Ohms allowing cable runs of hundreds of feet with negligible signal loss.

Typically an electret element would be damaged by Phantom voltages over 20 Volts DC. The Phantom voltage supplied by most professional mixers range from 12 Volts to 48 Volts DC. The MC-101 includes a Voltage regulator circuit that permits the microphone to function with any applied Phantom voltage from 2 Volts to 50 Volts DC without degrading microphone performance.

Long microphone cable runs in locations exposed to high power radio frequency interference, such as from a radio or television transmitter, can act as an antenna and degrade microphone audio quality. Such situations are not unusual in large city locations. Circuits in the MCM-101 block such interference and shunt it safely to Ground before causing audio interference
