The AJA DANTE-12GAM is a high performance Audio over IP (AoIP) Converter, embedding and disembedding SDI audio to a Dante network and back to SDI from Dante audio. Equipped with 12G-SDI input and output and dual etherCON GigE ports, the DANTE-12GAM is capable of simultaneously embedding and disembedding up to 16 channels of audio in and out for a total of 32 audio channels in a compact device.
DANTE-12GAM is available with a single channel 12G-SDI input and output, or as two dual channel options: DANTE-12GAM-TR-LC (with LC Fiber SFP) or DANTE-12GAM-TR-BNC (with BNC SFP), which support a total of up to 64 channels of Dante audio in a compact Mini-Converter form factor.
Please Note: This single channel base version can be upgraded to a dual channel version (64 Channels) at any time via the optional license and the addition of either the BNC or LC Fiber SFP's (Sold Seperately).
Dante and AES67
In addition to Dante IP audio, the DANTE-12GAM also supports AES67, which is an open standard for IP audio developed by the Audio Engineering Society (AES). Dante and AES67 work together by leveraging AES67's interoperability to allow Dante devices to communicate with other AES67-compliant systems, enhancing the flexibility and integration capabilities of audio networks, greatly expanding the Dante audio ecosystem. This means you can integrate Dante systems with other IP audio systems that use AES67, such as RAVENNA, Livewire, and Q-LAN. To enable AES67 on Dante devices, you need to activate AES67 in Dante Controller software, which allows the Dante network to transmit and receive AES67 streams.
Dante and SMPTE ST 2110-30
SMPTE ST 2110-30 is the SMPTE standard for transporting uncompressed audio over IP networks. The DANTE-12GAM also supports SMPTE ST 2110-30 IP audio, which is a component of the broader SMPTE ST 2110 IP AV suite. The SMPTE ST 2110 standard includes video, audio, ancillary data, and more, transporting the highest quality video and audio IP data streams over robust IP networks, typically in broadcast environments. The DANTE-12GAM can interoperate with other ST 2110-30 compliant devices via the Dante Controller software. The Dante audio network and the DANTE-12GAM both support Precision Time Protocol version 2 (PTPv2), ensuring synchronization across Dante and SMPTE ST 2110 networks. With its support of SMPTE ST 2110-30, the DANTE-12GAM is a powerful bridge between Dante and SMPTE networks in professional audio and broadcast applications.
Advanced Enclosure
The DANTE-12GAM utilizes a rugged new aluminum enclosure, offering a front panel display, physical push-button controls, USB-C connectivity for initial Static IP configuration, and active cooling designed with front-to-back airflow. The onboard display reports status and configuration and is paired with buttons for enter, back, up, and down for easy access to settings for standalone operation.
