RX Series Surge Protection in a Twenty Amp, Three Step Sequencer
The CQ 1520-RX combines reliable AC power sequencing with the proven performance of the Juice Goose RX Series surge protection and filtration.
Each CQ Series product contains the circuitry needed for sequenced activation and plug-and-play coordination with other CQ Series models or RC Series accessories. All power up and power down sequences are performed automatically. Commands are passed from one CQ Series unit to the next.
The CQ 1520-RX is a single space rack mount device featuring 7 AC power outputs on the rear of the chassis with a combined rating of 20 amps . One output is unswitched. The remaining 6 outputs are grouped into 3 Power Pods of two outputs each. Each Power Pod is an individual sequence event. All outputs have premium, RX Series surge protection and line noise filtration. Because the CQ 1520-RX is a self contained sequencing circuit, it can be the master or slave in a power sequencing system. Eight wire RJ-45 cable can be connected to this unit's Signal Input and/or Signal Output connectors to link it's operations with other CQ or control devices.
This product features LEDs on the front of the chassis for real time monitoring of the sequencing functions. Individual LEDs light when power is applied to its power pod.
Proven Power Protection
Published test results prove the effectiveness of the power protection circuitry contained in the CQ 1520-RX and other RX Series based products.
This RX power protection technology is particularly valuable because it works against common mode as well as normal mode events. While it protects against dramatic surge events of up to 6,000 volts at 3,000 amps on hot and neutral (normal mode), it also limits ground line (common mode) surges to one-half (0.50) volt to prevent operating faults of digital processing equipment.
Power protection circuitry in the CQ 1520-RX includes a differential transformer, lots of filtering capacitance and control circuitry providing protection from dangerous surges, high frequency interference, building wiring faults and over voltage. RX technology is proven to deliver protection comparable to an isolation transformer
Twenty Amp Rating
The 20 amp capacity of this unit requires it to be assembled with a 12 gauge power cable and a NEMA 5/20P plug at the end of the power cord. This cable can be inserted into any AC receptacle with a comparable rating and the configuration of the duplex receptacle on the right, below.
Please Note: Interconnecting CQ Series devices requires eight wire, RJ-45 cable. While this is the same component used to assemble CAT5 and CAT6 cables, orientation of the connectors on the CQ Series cable is slightly different than for the CAT data networking cable. Therefore, standard CAT5 or CAT6 cables will not work with CQ Series devices.
The Qiwi fits in a standard two gang wall enclosure. It ships with a three gang front plate and wall box. The third enclosure space is required for AC wire termination. RJ 45 cable terminations are with standard male connectors which mate with receptacles on the Qiwi circuit board.
Please read before connecting any RJ45 cables!
After crimping a RJ45 connector on one end of the eight wire cable, attach a connector on the other end "upside down" from the first so that when the connectors are placed side by side the wire orientation will appear opposite of each other (i.e 12345678 - 87654321) Check the cable with a continuity tester prior to installation. There is no known distance limit for the connection of CQ units by means of this cable system. The CQ signal is not sensitive to voltage changes or frequency interference.
